THIS story brings back a horrid memory!

?

IN 1982 I was pregnant with Randy. He was born in Sept. so I had to
go through the hot summer heat, working, and sweating my butt off.
I started holding water and the dr. was alarmed. He kept warning me I
had to get off my feet, slow down at work, and try and release some of
the fluid from my body. Nothing was working. I didn't have much of an
appetite that summer, so I wasn't eating much. And still, the water
kept coming. Finally my doctor told me I had to eat two things daily,
since they helped the body shed water. Those two things were
watermelon and green peppers.

?

I ate more stinking green peppers and watermelon that summer than any
other time in my life. I FELT like a green pepper. I had them for
breakfast, brunch, lunch, supper, snacks. I began to dread the shiny
odd shaped object that I was sticking into my mouth daily.

?

Today, I don't care much for watermelon. But I do cook with green
peppers often and use them in many casseroles, and other foods. I
still like stuffed green peppers. But to sit and eat one
raw...........uh......I really have to think about that one.

?

On the day my son was born that hot September day I lost 25 lbs. of
water, and I was SO GLAD the baby finally arrived and my diet of
watermelon and green peppers would cease.

articles on bereavement often.
