The Pirate??™s Song

He stood casually, letting her drink in his entire length, before hooking his thumb into the weathered top of the black belt that wrapped securely around his waist, before sauntering forward toward her resting place.

With each step, he watched the frighten gaze get larger and larger, laughing to himself.  God he loved the image he created when an unknown woman first viewed his assets.

Shrinking back visibly, Delina squeezed the blankets tighter and tighter, until the white of her knuckles showed pale against the faded colours on the quilted tapestry.  She had no idea who this man was, or why he was sitting, as if he owned the place, in her bedchambers.

???Stop??¦don??™t come any closer or ??¦I??™ll??¦I??™ll scream,??? threatened Delina knowing her voice sounded as weak as a new born kittens.  She yanked the blanket with her as she jumped out on the far side of the bed keeping the man pinned in her line of sight.

Watching her actions, he tossed back his head, and roared loudly with pure pleasure.  God, he loved this.  The cowardly female jumps away.  ???I see that you have intentions to run??¦??? he teased with a twinkle sparkling in his eye and an amused smile playing around his curved lips.

For the first time in her life, Delina knew how it felt to be trapped with no escape.  It chilled her to the bone.  As she let the words sink into her consciousness, her eyes darted around and landed upon the door.  Could she make it past him and out the door before he grabbed her? 

With a sweeping arm gesture, he said, ???By all means, do make a run for it??¦??? and then stood waiting to see it this beautiful wench would take him up on his offer.  At first, he thought she might, but then he saw the wheels turning, calculating, and knew she would not.  Maybe he had not given this woman enough credit for the brains hidden beneath the thick mop of fiery red hair. He??™d been told she would be a challenge, but had not believed a word of it, until this very second.

She stood looking at him and waiting, but he just stood waiting too.  It was like a fencing match without the duelling wands.

Tilting her head to one side, after deciding he was not nearly as dangerous as she had first believed, she stated, ???We could stand here all day staring at each other, or you could actually tell me why you are here and then have the decency to leave my cabin and allow me to dress, like a proper gentleman.???

???True,??? he taunted.  ???But??¦there are a few flaws in your logic.  First of all, I enjoy watching half-naked beautiful women cowering in front of me, and second, you are very much mistaken if you believe me to be a gentleman.???  Before the words could sink in, he leapt across the narrow bunk, grabbed her arm swinging her around to land in a heap sideways on the bed.  The swiftness of his actions left her in no doubt the latter was true.

So, until next week, keep well, be creative and celebrate the finer things in life.
