The Pirate??™s Song ??“ Segment # 3

Winded she lay looking up at him with large green eyes.  She was now more terrified than she had been in her life, but she was also more excited and it showed.  The nipples tucked under the flannel nightwear popped to attention forming soft little peaks.  She pulled the blanket quickly over the area embarrassed to find it happening without provocation.  Her cheeks reddened, but she not a word.

Leaning forward, he picked up a wayward strand of her colourful hair and twisted it between his fingers watching the light play off the radiant red hues.  Its colour was like nothing he had seen before.  He watched her face as he did it, taking in her doe-like stare and soft pouty lips.  God she looked good enough to eat, but his time would come and she would give herself to him willingly.  He had never taken love from a woman who did not offer it, and he didn??™t intend to begin with her.  The stakes were just too high.

Straightening, he said, ???While I check on the crew members below, I would suggest you dress yourself.  I will come back and get you when I am done.  Do not come out of the cabin on your own??¦..Have I made myself clear enough????

Without a word, Delina shook her head up and down acknowledging his instruction, before pushing herself up off the bed on shaking arms.  She watched as he walked over to the door, stopping to looking back at her with a warning look upon his face, before stepping through and closing the door sharply behind him.

A snapping noise drew her eyes to the door handle.  She was sure he had locked her in, even after his warning about her leaving the room.  Walking quietly on her tiptoes, Delina softly stepped up to the door and slowly and quietly turned the handle hoping it would open, but it didn??™t budge.

Frustrated, she kicked at the heavy beam on the bottom of the door, only to find herself screaming out in pain as a sliver slid up under her big toenail.  Grabbing the four-poster knob, Delina hobbled across to the bed and plunged down to examine the damage.  The sliver had gone deep, and around it blood oozed unchecked, until she started dabbing at it with her handkerchief.  ???What a mess,??? she muttered to herself.

The pain in her toe was excruciating and had her sucking in her breath with sharp short intakes, while attempting to stem the tears that lingered on her eyelashes from falling.  Taking her bag from the oak shelf above the bed, she rummaged through it until she found her gold-plated pinchers.

Digging and prying until she grasped the offending slip of wood and quickly yanked it out.  She screamed, but felt instant relief and sighed.  It felt good, but now the bleeding flowed like a raging river.  She grasped one of the washing cloths from the bath and dipped it in the cold water, before dabbing her toe gently.

The bleeding had almost stopped when the door burst open slamming back against the sturdy beam that ran overhead.  Shocked, Delina??™s head snapped up to see him standing in the door looking at her with expectation.
