My Inspiration

Many times writers are asked what sources we draw upon for our writing muse. There are in fact as many sources as there are writers. Each writer has a different inspiration and a different motivation to write.

Many of my personal inspirations come from writings and quotes that I hear. Words jump off a page as if to stand in front of my eyes and demand to be seen, to be heard, to be tasted, and to be reflected upon. These writings speak to me; touching my heart and my soul. They demand attention, refusing to be dismissed and jumbled up into the abyss of the internet; the abyss of data overload.

Sometimes I read a story with the intention of including it in my newsletter, when this particular story inspires me to write about my own personal experience which may or may not be similar in content. Somehow I relate to the story on such a level that I feel the need to tell my own story. Much of my writing has evolved from this catalyst.

However, most of my inspirations come from the wonders of life as it unfolds in front of me. I am inspired by courage, and resiliency in humans and in nature. I am inspired by new born puppies, their eyes not yet open, they squirm searching for comfort, sustenance, and love. They are driven to survive, by extinct, often parallel to the human condition.

 My inspiration comes from the fish in the Chinese pond at the hotel that I wrote about, which swim around and around. They know their purpose; they maintain their drive, never tiring, continuing their journey until their time in this realm has expired.

My inspiration comes from a young child??™s innocence given in total abandon; not jaded by life. Finally, my inspiration comes from all that I am, all that I have known and experienced in life, and all that I am yet to become.
