Announcement!  Storytime Tapestry would like to announce a new newsletter!

Storytime Tapestry Jr.

"Storytime Tapestry Jr." is a monthly publication in which our younger writers may submit their written works.

The goal of "Storytime Tapestry Jr." is to encourage children to write and to express, in their own words, their world as they see it.

Who may submit to "Storytime Tapestry Jr.?" Any minor whose parent or guardian is a subscriber to "Storytime Tapestry Jr."

Mission Statement:

Parents may type their child's written work if necessary.

Parents with children who have learning differences may scribe for their children.
We strongly suggest, however, that you let your child tell their story in their own words and that you, as a parent, resist the urge to edit their work.

This does not mean that you cannot have input with your child. Here is the perfect time to teach them about:

1. Creating your characters - the describing and background of the character
so that they seem real to the reader.
2. Setting - where does the story take place?
3. Plot - what is the story about?
4. Events - what happens in the story?
5. Ending - How does the story end?

Within this structure lessons on outline, grammar, punctuation, spelling and transition from one paragraph to another can be addressed.
Parent or guardian must be a subscriber to "Storytime Tapestry"
Parent or Guardian must approve and submit each work
There will be a theme for each month
Entries can be written in any format:
Story - Fiction or Non-Fiction
Essay
Poem
Letter
Diary or Journal Entry
There is no limit to the size of the piece
There may be more than one entry
No violence may be used in any submission
Submission must be G rated

The management reserves the right to refuse any submission based on content not suitable for publication. Each writer will be notified personally as to why their piece was not acceptable at this time. They will also be encouraged to revise and resubmit where ever applicable.

???Storytime Tapestry Jr??? is the by product of ???Storytime Tapestry.???   Although owned by Carol Roach, it will be operated by Debra Shiveley, with help from Clara Westerfer.
