written by Nicole M. Stevenson

Nell Berry is 74 years old living in Missouri and has been married for 55yrs. A woman of spirt and value continuing to embrace her craft. An author writting short stories and whispering words of poetic praise. She has proven that you can continue your passion

What sparked your interest with writing?

When my first child, a girl was just a few months old, I wrote a poem about her and that was what

started my writing career.

How long have you been writing?

That was 54 years ago and I get worse all the time. I don't think there is a cure for this desease. LOL

What is the title of your book?

Growing Up In Missouri and Other Short Stories. You did mean my first book didn't you? I have another one which is as yet unfinished, Stranger In The Shadows, tentatively.

Can you give us an excerpt from your book?

There have been many times in my life when I feel there were angels all around. Once when I was a child, a family friend escorted me home through the woods at night when I got homesick while staying with other friends. He could have done whatever he chose to me. There was no one to stop him. But I felt warm and safe with him holding my hand. I still remember the moon being very bright and it was just a very memorable moment in my life. This friend died not long after that. I was very sad. But even though he was not a Christian, he was a very kind and sweet old man. The whole community loved him. I know there were angels all around that night.

Why? Where you so determined to get this story out?

If you want the truth, I needed at least 8500 words to finish my book and this was one of the stories I chose to add to it.

What do you do in your spare time?

You mean besides writing? I love to email my new found friends on the internet. I also like to sew, crochet, sing in church and cook. I also love to go to church and worship Jesus.
