? A Voice Left Unheard

Carol Roach

Her hand reached out
And no one came
Patiently waiting
She was not to blame

She opened her heart and
Poured out her words
They shook their head
And cried upsurd

They preached to her
And would not listen
Her spirit cried in pain
Their humanity missing

Her words said in sincerity
They did not believe her
Words crafted with clarity
Would not redeem her

These problems occurred
Because of wrong thinking
Their arrogance, painful
Her faith in them sinking

She should not waver
And so she was strong
Yet still they insisted
Her thinking was wrong

With the cards stacked against her
She tried as she might
They kept on insisting do not
Give up the fight

Her efforts were thwarted
Time and again
They did not believe anything
She said

So she disengaged from them
One by one
She needed a friend
And found she had none
