Special Treat ??“ Leona Ebling

Nov 22, 2005

Ladies and gentleman you all know that my sister lay dying in the hospital room as we speak.I do thank you so much for all your love and support as you help me through these troubling times.

Leona Ebling wrote a poem for me that touched me so much I had to have it printed here in Storytime Tapestry. It is a direct answer to my poem just published, on the 20th of this month: While She Lay Dying.

As She Lay Dying

Leona Ebling

Her bed, the room, they are the same

Her mother softly calls her name,

she smiles her answer, "no one's to blame,

As she lay dying.

Tme goes swiftly by as the clock ticks loud,

from her lips no sound is heard, there is no crowd

She knows sister is there, her head is bowed

As she lay dying.

Who knows the time when it will be the end

Is there no other of her friends

to come, to pray, their hearts to try to mend

As she lay dying

But God in heaven knows and cares,

And HE will always be right there:

and HE their sorrows will also bear,

As she lay dying

So in joy and sorrow her time to go she waits

when she will enter those pearly gates

and no more pain will she have to take

In peace now,? as she lay dying.
