My take on our upcoming New Year 2006

Norma Liles

As I read our New Year's eve's newsletter from our precious Storytime_Tapestry, it came to me that I needed to voice my opinions/thoughts on the old and the new years.

For starters, I would love to say 'thank you, Carol, for making this situation possible!" Carol has been my friend since I started writing sometime after the age of 70. As of now, I am #76. She has been a great encourager even when my attempts were futile

In one regard, entering a new year is rather akin to our American Thanksgiving celebration in that we tend to look back and give thanks for all the blessings that our Creator, family and friends have bestowed on us. This makes for a well deserved observation on our parts.

I find myself to be so grateful for the opportunity to submit my poems or stories to this great newsletter and it gives us so much needed exposure of our talents as well as getting to know our fellow authors. I deem it a privilege and a blessing to know that many have reached out to me through this newsletter as well I have attempted to do the same.

I have gained a lot of knowledge from you, my fellow writers, with your input that I treasure. I love to read and I will say that you keep me very busy with your talents. Thank you for allowing me that privilege!

It is my goal to be more like Jesus although I realize it is impossible to be like Him but without a purpose, we cannot attain greatness? I do not expect greatness but I am sure you follow my meaning. I hesitate to set other unrealistic goals for this new year before us but I will try to be the best that I can be and I wish the same for you my friends.

May God continue to guide your pen as your delight us with your knowledge in whatever way you are directed. I wish it were possible for us all to author a book but I do not see it for myself but it would be lovely, indeed!

As Jesus would say: "Peace I give to you, my brother!"

Love to you, my friends,
