The Look of Love

? by Sharlett F. Hunt

?  I always enjoyed studying people.?  They really interest me as it also helps me to understand my nature.?  Our differences are? many but the things we have in common are much more prevalent.?  Each one of us is all part of a vast community of spiritual love.?  I believe that we are all formed together as part of that one common bond.? ?

?  We are but a tall, upright, human animal, with the ability to learn more than our furry counterparts.?  Problem is, people have emotions and sometimes they get in the way of true growth in life.?  Animals have one emotion, if you will, ? and that is true unconditional love.?  Somehow, I believe they have a much stronger spiritual connection than ourselves.

?  Birds fascinate me.?  We can learn so much from their habits.?  They mate for life.?  I watched a? pair of woodpeckers once? who had just had babies.?  How awesome!?  The female would leave the birdhouse nest in the morning in search of food and the male would watch outside for her return.?  A few minutes before she would appear, you could hear the male inside just banging and making noise, as if to make her think he had been working the entire time she was gone hunting.?  Like some people I know.?  It was so funny.

?  Birds also teach their young to fly.?  Most animals tend to their young much better than us.?  They follow their instincts and never deviate, unlike humans, who tend to be lost when it comes to rearing a child.?  There are so many books written on the subject.?  Maybe we should watch the wildlife and see how it is done.

?  Domestic animals seem to each have their own unique personality or maybe we just want them to.?  Either way, those adorable creatures bring so much love into a household.?  What ever kind of critter you might have in your family, one thing is certain, whether you want to or not, you will learn something from them.

?  I always? loved dogs.?  I had a beautiful blonde chow a few years back, Baby, who thought she was a circus dog.?  She had this one particular toy she liked and when I would give it to her, she would put it in her mouth and shake it a few times, then turn somersaults, head first, like an acrobat.?  Then she would lie on her back and look up at me as I applauded.?  I've never seen a dog do that before or since.?

? ? It's been so hard to talk about her.? ? When I lost my best friend, it nearly killed me emotionally.?  She enjoyed riding in cars and loved going anywhere.?  ? She was run over by a truck one afternoon while I was at work and my son had just let her out to go to the potty.?  She was buried in my silk comforter before I got home as my son was afraid of what might happen if I saw her.?  I went from door to door asking people if they saw who hit her.?  She was as big as a three year old child so when they hit her, they knew it, but just left her in the middle of the road.

It is still hard for me to write about her.?  Her spirit was so lovely.?  I mourned her death for a long time.?  After all, I am only human.?  She had become so much to me in her short life.?  Funny how they can imprint your heart.?

?  I had many friends trying to get me to adopt another little dog but I never could.?  I don't know why and wish I did.?  I do have the sweetest little cat who adores me and my little parakeet to keep me company these days.?  They stay with me through thick and thin and love me, asking nothing in return.?  I've? seen? but? few humans in my life with this trait.?  If I want to know what real love looks like, all I have to do is look in their little sparkling eyes.?

WALK LIGHTLY THROUGH LIFE

By: Joseph J. Mazzella

? ? ? ?  Have you ever felt so good that your body felt lighter? Have you ever felt so joyous that you could hardly feel your feet touching the ground? Have you ever felt so full of love that your heart felt like a bright, colorful, Autumn leaf carried on the winds for miles and miles? Have you ever felt so at one with life and with God that it seemed as though your spirit was flying through the Heavens even while you walked along the Earth? If you ever have felt this way then you are in good company. Poets, saints, and philosophers for thousands of years have talked about the lightness of being that comes to us when we live in joy, love, and oneness with God.

? ? ? ?  I myself always feel lighter when I am choosing joy and sharing love. I myself always feel the weight of the world melt away when I live in oneness with God. Every smile I share, every kind word I say, and every good thing I do makes me feel a little lighter, a little better, and a little happier. Every moment that I live this way too makes me want to continue to walk lightly through life and to give God??™s love to everyone I meet.

? ? ? ?  Maybe the reason that we always feel so much lighter and happier when we live this way is that our souls are all weightless. Our bodies weigh the same the second after we die as they did when we were alive. The "real us" doesn??™t weigh anything. Perhaps then when we start living from the "real us" we start to feel the lightness of spirit in our lives. Perhaps when we start truly living from our souls; our hearts, minds, and bodies become uplifted as well.

? ? ? ?  God loves us and God wants each of us to live from our souls. May all of us walk lightly through life then. May all of us share our love and joy with everyone we meet. May all of us feel so good every single day that even our bodies feel lighter.

~ From Orphans to Royalty ~

Joyce C. Lock

? ? ? ?  The first time I read Ezekiel 16, I cried all the way through it.It's a story of God's heart, as a betrayed husband; with every jealousy, hurt, rage, or emotion felt by humans.

? ? ? ?  Yet, whenever we're hurting, few consider if we're doing the same things to God.Whether spiritually, literally, or both ??¦ perhaps, each of us has once been such a person who betrayed God.

? ? ? ?  Just as dust returns to dust, blood returns to blood (vs. 22, 36), 'til the pride of man be broken (vs.15) and we're ready to accept God's way (vs. 55); whatever that may be.And, just when you see your blood for what it is and you're ready to accept the punishment you know you deserve, God reaches down and loves you in ways you never dream; restoring you to a better position than you ever had before (vs. 60-63).

? ? ? ?  Once an atonement is received (unlawful/a shame to ever speak of again), you'll never forget the awesome love of God, throughout all eternity."He loves me!He really, really loves ME!"

? ? ? ?  A love like that, we never ever want to betray, again. It breaks our heart to break His.We finally begin serving God for who He is and we learn to love like He does, letting Him live through us.

~*~

Without God, spiritually, we're like orphans left on a doorstep.

With Him, we're royalty from the inside out.

The devil lies. There is nothing between.

~*~
