No Pets

Bill Walker

wildbill6807@yahoo.com

On Leah and my trip to Mississippi,? we spent a few nights at some motels, or tried to get a room at different ones.?  Some times we ran into the places that said no pets. So we had to travel on, as some would say people, but pets no way. Let me tell you of one that was different.?  That is pets, owners no way.

We pulled into this one place one evening.?  I parked the car, and walked in.?  No one at the desk, but here is a little bell to ring.?  So after a couple minutes I rang the thing.?  That didn't get me any one I could talk to about? a room.?  It did get me a large dog.?  This fellow came running in like General Stonewall running some cotton picken Yankees back to New York.?  He also was talking.

He stood up, placing his hands on the top of desk, talking all the time.?  Now I asked if there was a room for one Peke and two people. That is when I could get a word in. I figured he might say Pekes would be welcomed.

That is when I seen the sign.?  Said no pets.

I also started to understand what this guy was saying.

It went like this.

I said, "Have you got a room?" ..?  Dog,, ? "BARK BARK, no pets."

I said, ? "I have a small Peke.? " ? Dog,, ? "BARK BARK, I said no pets."

I said,?  "but are you not a pet?" ?  Dog,,?  "BARK BARK,?  I am owner and operator of this flop house.?  BARK BARK,?  no pets."

I said,?  "I don't understand.." ?  Dog said,?  "Peke welcome, pets are not."

I asked how much was the cost for Peke and her pets?? ?  I figured maybe I was starting to understand.

Dog said, "send in Peke and he would talk to her."

So I walked out to car,?  Told Little? Girl go in and see if she could get this guy to let us pets stay.

She went in, and was in for only a few minutes, came back out and got in the car.

Little Girl said, "he said, NO PETS.?  unless she would pay extra. That would be 20 dollars per pet."?  I guess Leah and I wasn't worth the extra."?

SEE CLEARLY

By: Joseph J. Mazzella

? ? ? ?  A friend of mine recently told me about her struggle with becoming nearly blind from cataracts. She told me of the fears she had to face walking outdoors and not being able to even see the moving traffic. She told me of the difficulties she had to overcome trying to do things without her eyes and learning to "see" by only sound and touch. She also told me of the joys she experienced as her other senses expanded and the wonderful world of hearing, smelling, tasting, and touching came alive for her. She even told me how grateful to God she was for getting to go through this before finally getting the surgery she needed to restore her vision. It made me realize just how amazing and courageous the people are who have to live without their eyesight. It also made me think of how much I take my own eyesight for granted at times. It is a gift from God and I am so blessed to have it.

? ? ? ?  I am so grateful to my friend for helping me to see clearly again all the glorious gifts we are given in this life. After hearing from her I closed my eyes for a long time and quietly thanked God for them all. When I finally opened my eyes again I rejoiced in seeing the clouds in the sky, my son??™s smiling face, and my daughter??™s bright, shining eyes once more.

? ? ? ?  God loves us all so much. He gives us sight, sound, and smell. He gives us taste and touch.?  He gives us minds to think, hearts to feel, and souls to be one with Him. He gives us all we need to rejoice in this life, learn in this life, and love in this life. His glorious and unconditional love strengthens us to face all the challenges we must go through and His wonderful wisdom guides us as we continue to grow and become who we were meant to be. His gifts and blessings are endless and eternal. May we all see them clearly, embrace them lovingly, and share them joyously with everyone ever.

In The Darkest of Nights

1995

Robin L. Sardini

Through all of our grief He sustains us.

Through all of our tears He is there.

In every anguished and loneliest hour

The Lord Jesus knows our despair.

He hears every prayer we pray to Him.

He knows just how much we can stand.

In the midst of the pain in the darkest of nights

We are held in the palm of His Hand.

Gentle Soul

Robin L. Sardini

Dust the gold from

your satin jacket.

Tiptoe into this windwashed? twilight:

Pink swirls of heaven bathe earthen skin.

Sink into my blissful

Amethyst shroud of night

And wink at the stars with me.

Readers Feedback

Feb 16th - The Tribute to Loren Moore by Clara Wersterfer is wonderful. To have people who remember you that way and who take the time to write something like this is a legacy that very few of us will ever have.

Thank you, Clara, for sharing this with us. Dianna Doles Petry.

Clara; thank you for sharing this tribute to Loren Moore with me.He brought me a great many chuckles with his tales, I know he is really missed, God Bless him.Natalie.

Prayer Requests and Updates

Feb 16th ? Just got the news.?  Jene is home, weak, but home.. they did something different.?  Found she did have heart attack,?  but ruled out major surgery.? ?  did some tube work, and opened up a blocked vain.? ?  She got her meds changed.?  Will know more tomorrow.

In Response to the news of Jene Lind:

May the arm of God reach in and wrap His loving Hand around her heart, regulating the beats...may time take it's ticking time and heal the souls retreating...may He see fit her journey, leaning not on our own understanding, we are here to know only His miracle of our own relenting...We take this opportunity to find His mercy and ask His Grace...to ask His blessings and seek His face...we need her more...we Need her more...You can have her Another day...we Need her here to serve You in such a? sweet and wonderful way...In Jesus Name Amen. love, Paula
