A Bullet

Bill Walker

wildbill6807@yahoo.com

A bullet, a one shot. How many times in history has one shot changed the course of history??  We can't say, as maybe that was the way it was written it was to happen.?  I can hear a lot of people saying old Bill believes things is wrote out some where what is going to happen. Some times yes I do believe that.?  I?  think there is a master plan, but some of us don't follow the master plan. I really am not smart enough, and I don't believe there is any one that is smart enough to say other wise on what or what does not happen.?  I don't have a clue if I will finish this yarn or not.?  I could drop dead or sick and never finish it.?  Yesterday is history,? today is now, tomorrow is a maybe. ?

I remember things that happened, also read about things that is said to changed the course of history.?  Just how can that be? Something that happened to change history. It isn't history till it happens!? ?  It is stupid to say something happened to change history.?  Can you go back in history and undo last year??  No I don't think so, what happened is part of history.?

Let me give you a few cases in point?

42 years ago J.F.K was shot and killed. Did what happened changed history??  There was changes made sure, but history?

Our Civil War.?  General Stonewall Jackson shot and died from wounds by some of his own soldiers.?  Did that changed history??  Sure did, with General Stonewall Jackson? and General Lee at Gettysburg, them damn Yankees would still be running.?  But General Jackson was gone, God had need of him else where. What happened is part of history. There is no changing a bad for a good. Same as changing a good for a bad.

Lincoln, he went to the show, got shot and died from the wounds.?  Did that changed history? No all it did was history.?  I am sure the now re glued nation would have been much better with Lincoln instead of in control of Stanton and radical republicans.?  But we got Stanton and his gang of thugs in power.?  The new president was fighting for his life, and hanging on by a string.?  HISTORY was not changed in no way.?

History is what happens, we can't not go back and rewrite it.?  We can only think what history would be like if something had not happened.

Remember if Tinker had not stopped to visit the fire plug, he would have ran the rabbit down.?  And we could have had a rabbit for dinner. Dad gum it all.?  History!?

~ Leaving Your Financial Wilderness ~

Joyce. C. Lock

? ? ?  One??™s instinct to survive goes against giving all, as if we??™d lose all that??™s left.?  And, whatever we think we possess is just a figment of our imagination.?  Yet, we cling to it for dear life.

? ? ?  Consider conscious choices you??™ve made.?  Didn't you think they were yours??  Truth is, every thought keeping us separate from God is based upon a lie.?  Logic, not given us by the Spirit, is based upon misplaced faith.?  Apart from God, we are not even in our right minds.?  They are not our thoughts at all, but Satan??™s planting!

? ? ?  Giving all is not throwing everything out the window.?  Neither is it about being good enough. It is a choice, of the heart, to choose God and His direction, in all things.

? ? ?  Perhaps you want a new sofa, but would have to charge it.?  So, you seek God, who reminds you of scripture to not owe any man.

? ? ?  Do you kick and scream about your wants??  Or, have you, yet, been burned enough that, if God isn't in it, you already know you don't want it?

? ? ?  Choose God.?  Soon, someone may be giving away their sofa.?  Just think of the financial bondage you will have averted!

? ? ?  Perhaps you want a special blouse.?  But, there is greater need to pay bills.?  God knows your furnace will be going out next week and you will, otherwise, come up short. Will you argue??  Or, are you finished with being on the losing end?

? ? ?  Suppose it is the end of the month and your glasses break.?  You can not do without them.?  So, you place your faith in your charge card.?  Right?

? ? ?  Is there no God??  Did you even stop to ask His way??  Perhaps new lenses would fit in your old pair of glasses.?  But, you never thought of that!?  Well, it could be because you didn't ask.

? ? ?  Ok, so, perhaps, you would prefer another option.?  Maybe someone, long forgotten, will return money owed to you. Just do not short change God.

? ? ?  These are only some of the steps of faith we may take, knowing that only God knows the way out of our financial wilderness.?  And, in such, He helps us to become stronger with each step we take; growth, later, proving to have been beneficial to our calling.

? ? ?  Eventually, we come to realize God cares about everything we care about and He is trustworthy to do the most loving thing possible.?  And, once we finally realize it all belongs to Him, we discover He owns it all!

This was my requiem for Charlie our Rooster. He passed
away in 2003, in
Japan, while I was here in Maine. My
son, who always wanted to roast or boil Charlie for
disturbing his sleep, buried him under our peach tree
with full ceremony. The tree was then in full spring
bloom just as Charlie's life without compromise!

Charlie the Rooster
(the bird of sunrise)
Rita Dixit-Kubiak

Dearest Rooster,

Cookie, Charlie ...
the many named, beloved
Morning bird of ours:
Were you and the sun
born synchronistically,
or did its rising queue your
first call?

You arrived at dusk one day
unknown to city folks
and somehow fancied
to stay.

You walked in
clicking and clacking
white plumed and handsome
with red wattle and crown
your beady eyes inspecting us
perfectly well behaved
even gentlemanly!
you were zapping me
with those pin-points
in your eye -
as we looked around
to feed you -
was it raw genmai
that you got fed?

You pecked at it
with your yellow beak
and didn't like it
whatever it was -
and let us know it
with jerky side nods
of your purposeful head
and instead decided
to explore the house.

You pattered along
talloned feet and all
through the cosy
dark corridor of our
Japanese house -
as if you had
done this before
and entered the
front genkan
still the dignified guest,
stepping down the
wooden deck
to the cemented
enclosed front porch,
That became your abode
for a few weeks.

We shut the
sliding doors thinking
a unique visitor
but nonetheless a bird
he'd better stay outside.
You weren't expecting
the exclusion

I suppose, but then
who knew what was alright?
We thought wouldn't
David, who was in
India
be surprised to know
we had a rooster
for visitor.

The next dawn
I awoke to your
cock ki kok kok
wondering where I was

Then a smile crossed my
face, and I rushed
to the stairs and down,
to see you prancing
from shoe closet
to bench, to step
and cement floor
and up and down
and somewhat displeased.

Brown rice grains
scattered across the floor
the bowl of water spilled,
with your bird droppings
here and there.? ? ?
"you bad boy," I said
and you nodded
your head to the side
and observed me ...
making me laugh
ah well!

I went to the kitchen
and got you some
breadcrumbs
maybe this would be
your feast.
I scattered it in
front of you

You pecked a little
and stopped,
and proceeded to
the sliding door
leading to the
front garden.
waiting to be set free.
"Ahem" I said
and slid open the door.
and you as self assuredly
as before, stepped into
the garden.

I watched you explore
the azelea bush, carnations,
the velvet moss beneath
the maple tree, rocks and
pebbles, the potted plants,
the ferns and rockery
by the azure blue fish bowl,
and its resident asetic king
the five year old goldfish.

You took it all in
click and clacking , not
missing a single thing.

The exits the entries,
the tall black wooden gate,
it was not long after
that you were flying to
the slated roof top
re-remembering
your skills of the wild.

A beloved pain in the butt
But hey.
You lived your life uncompromised.

Another Dance With You, Dad

By Maria P Urso

In Memory of my Dad, Epifanio Urso 1926-2005

I want to dance with Dad

Lord, just one more time;

If even for a moment

In visions in my mind.

I want to feel his warm arm

Wrapped around my waist

The other holding my right hand

As we dance face to face.

Just like he danced with Mom

So beautifully dressed

Her auburn hair and bluest eyes

Lace loomed about her breast.

Dad in his black tuxedo

Grandpa??™s watch inside his vest

His sparkling eyes, so handsome!

He always looked his best.

Smiling at Mom with loving eyes,

They waltzed without breaking stride

One step, two step, a dip to the beat

Dancing and swirling with pride.

I want to dance with you Daddy

Please Dad, just one more time;

If even for a moment

In visions in my mind.

I want to feel your arm

Wrapped around my waist

The other holding my right hand

As we dance face to face.

I long to look into your eyes,

To hear you say ???I love you???

And hug you Dad just one more time

Just like we always use to.

Boxers "the breed" are my number one priority right now, we show in both
conformation and obedience and I am the mother to 3, Jasmine, Gitana and
Abbey.?  Oil and acrylic painting is my next love, painting murals, on
canvas, glass and other items.?  Writing is my third, writing poems and
short stories of an inspirational nature.?  I have two daughters, grown and
live the life of a single person at 45.?  I also enjoy reading, horseback
riding and nature as a whole.

Readers Feedback

Feb 16th - What a lovely tribute to Loren Moore!?  I know he must have been a wonderful person.?  God bless, Sharlett

Carol,

I too would like to add a few words in tribute to Loren Moore. He brightened our days and made us smile. I so enjoyed the two stories we wrote together. It really made me smile and made my respect for Loren grow into a deep fondness for him. I too will miss him. I have missed his email and stories ever since he became ill and I prayed he would recover. But Lord knows he is in a better place and wouldn't come back if he could, I am sure. God bless him and his family and especially his beloved Johnnie. We love and support them all.

In Christian love,

Nell

Dear Sharon,

That is awful!?  I sure hope everything is okay now.?  Who would have ever thought of such a thing happening.?  Maybe something was not grounded on the fridge.
