Speaking Out

I am so elated that someone else in this world just gets downright PO'ed as I do at some of the things that are so obvious to me but others seem to live in another world, apart from those of us with common sense.  I applaud Dianna Doles Petry for speaking out on subjects that totally annoy me, as well.  Maybe it's because I am getting older and soon will be one of those elderly people who will need the help of the younger ones. 

It scares me to death when I think of this generation that is coming up.  I was in the local laundromat yesterday and a little boy about six years old was in there with his daddy who displayed tattoos and earrings on every exposed area.  I smiled at the little boy and he was clearly afraid of me. 

I felt so uncomfortable and just tried to avoid the boy.  I love children and am a grandma and it hurt me that this child had been taught to be so afraid of strangers. I know this is out of necessity because of the way our changing world is today.  My three children were also taught not to speak to strangers but were still friendly kids.  It is so sad that children can't really be kids anymore.  They see so much violence and crap on TV and in those stupid video games. 

When they took prayer out of school and since have been trying to take God out of everything, this whole world is running around like rats caught in a maze.  Now, I am getting on my soapbox.  God bless you, Dianna, and thanks.  Sharlett F. Hunt
