SEVEN DAYS

By: Joseph J. Mazzella

I saw another one of those seven day advertisements today. They are the ones that claim that you can change your life in just seven days. There are ones for losing so much weight in seven days. There are ones for getting in shape in seven days. There are ones for starting to make a great deal of money in seven days. There are even ones for finding that perfect relationship in seven days. It is amazing just how many people there are out there who think that they can make our lives wonderful in a week.

I have, however, found one way that you can change your life in just seven days. It doesn’t require that you buy an exercise machine, take a pill, invest your savings, or give out your credit card number either. All you need is yourself, and all you have to invest is your heart, soul, and mind. Just by doing four simple steps for seven days you can begin to turn your life into the joyous experience you always hoped it could be.

The first step is simply to realize and know just how much God loves you. Once you see that God loves you and wants you to be happy then everything in your life will become better. You will begin to feel, in fact, just how glorious life can be. The next step is just to love God back. That is all God ever asks of us. By loving God back you will take the first step towards living the way you were meant to. Step three is to love yourself. If God loves you then you should be able to love yourself as well. You are a Child of God, after all, and worthy of love. The last step is to go out and love others too. Love is a gift that you can’t just keep to yourself. It has to be shared.

If you do these four steps for seven days then you will never want to stop. Your soul will come alive. Love and joy will flow through you and show up in every single thing you do. You will not only change your life but also become a blessing to God and to the world.

Why Does it Always Have to be Me?

Joyce C. Lock

As we search God in situations of life, we find spiritual lessons have a way of getting to the heart of the matter.  After a number of them, human nature causes us to ask, "Why does it always have to be me?"

When we have a really bad day, we may notice God reminding that we neglected to spend quality time with Him.

When trials come our way, we may recognize God encouraging us to keep our eyes on Him.

When we think someone neglecting their service, we may observe God sending another (as He is the one who calls people to do His will).

When we have this awesome plan, yet God chooses otherwise, we may see God teaching how our desires get in the way of His perfect will.

When we try to help one wayward, misguided, or heading for disaster (to no avail) - we may learn when to shake the dust off our feet.

When we falter, we may experience God's grace.

When our decisions flop, we may hear God whispering, "In all things, seek me first."

When everything we touch falls apart, we may receive God's promise that He has everything under control.

When we are misunderstood, we may receive God's comforting assurance that He understands.

When there is no one else to turn to, we may find our best friend in Jesus.

When we face all our fears, God may want us to know all we ever longed for (and all we will ever need) is found in Him.

Once we realize God only wants to love us, perhaps we can begin looking forward to the lessons, knowing we are on our way to glory (II Co. 4:17-18), and change our question to, "Why not me?"

This poem is dedicated to those people who have lost a loved one, a message from the other side.

My Message

Shelly Wiseberg

My heart is smiling down on you
from a golden cloud
I’ll be forever watching you
from high above
I’ll be with you always
a spirit companion
from the other side
Floating like a ghost
remembering what we’ve shared
in all of eternity
using love as our guide.

Mortal Thoughts

Gautami Tripathy

Flamboyant, flowing, fluid,
Akin to mischievous stream,
Etched in my mind.

Prior to blink of an eye,
Or trace of breath,
Lashed away by time.

A festering belief
Loiters in solitude,
Gaze nailed on the horizon.

Waiting for inferno
A flash of truth in the future
Or grim opaqueness of a hazy mind?

Angels Above
Tim Kevin

Where O' where is she, my lady fair
Her heart and body exposed all the night
Only to angels hovering above in the air
Privileged to just admire the lovely sight
-
In her dreams able to call out aloud
Come to me, my special loving angel
Lay beside me, with your head unbowed
Speak to me of a love we both know so well
-
Tenderly caress me and ignite the fire
Smoldering just beneath my consciousness
This physical need to extinguish my desire
So we may sleep unencumbered I confess
-
Of our restless bodies beneath the sheets
Tossing an turning all through the night
Awakened by our heart's rapid beats
Our bodies joined in an embrace so right
-
Exploding passions no longer asleep
Desire enflamed by each others touch
Seeking to soothe that need so deep
With tender strokes that we want so much
-
Reaching into the stars fulfilled with love
Bodies finally sated for one more time
Our thoughts drifting like the clouds above
To sleep safe in knowing our love sublime
