The Monarchy
Stella Thompson

People have begun lining the streets of
Windsor
Castle
: she is 80 years old!  She is the birthday girl
- THE QUEEN ...
well I cannot recall 80 years and whether I will be on
planet earth remains to be seen!  A happy childhood
straddled by heaps of good news!  Leads to the
Monarchy!

Its good to receive a letter well in advance of the
Queen's 80th Birthday from her eldest son:
The Prince of Wales and his wife The Duchness of
Cornwall /thanking me/for all my work and my poetry!

I had tried many times to ... get on with the status
quo ... call it what you may.  Recently when offering
my book for a record minimum wage in the
UK I received
a sharp reply!
/well now you are divorced ... you are no longer a
member of this family/ cold words on Saturday morning
I assure you/

But the Queen has retained family links in spite
of the endless divorces of members of her family -
they seem to now be in "second marriages" so, my reply
is ... the Monarch's family sets an example to us all
... and I am a member of my own family!

Extraodinary how time leads us to old age!
Congratulations are in order to Her Majesty The Queen
today ... Happy 80 Beautiful Years Your Majesty!

Works, Works, or Works?

Joyce C. Lock

Scenario No. 1

A child has just become a victim of a hit and run accident; lying in the middle of the road, with traffic coming.  Their back could be injured, making it not safe to move them.

You pray, "Oh, dear God, 'help me' bless this child.  Help him or her to not feel fearful and ease their pain.  I know that you are the Great Healer.  So, I am going to take this child home with me and decorate a bedroom for them to stay (making them feel welcomed and comfortable) as they are healing."

Scenario No. 2

Second verse, same as the first.
It ain't no better, but it does get worse.

A child has just become a victim of a hit and run accident; lying in the middle of the road, with traffic coming.  Their back could be injured, making it not safe to move them.

You pray, "Oh, dear God, bless this child, today.  Help them to not feel fearful and ease their pain.  I know you are the Great Healer and in control of all things.  So, protect them from oncoming traffic and may help come soon," then keep going, to meet your appointment.

Scenario No. 3

A child has just become a victim of a hit and run accident; lying in the middle of the road, with traffic coming.  Their back could be injured, making it not safe to move them.

You pray, "Oh, dear God, here I am.  Send me.  Bless this child through me.  Let me hear the need of their heart.  Give me Your words to meet that need, as we wait together.  I know you are the Great Healer.  Guide me as to how to best bring comfort and ease their pain.  And, Lord, being in control of all things, protect us from oncoming traffic and give someone the heart to call for help."

WORKS of the Flesh - Dead WORKS - WORKS of Faith.

- Three choices in how to pray -

Consider reading the following verse this way...

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray,
seeking my face (which is turning from their wicked ways)
then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

2 Chronicles 7:14

~ Works that Work ~

The next time you feel led to pray, try reporting for instruction.
Then, watch God begin to heal the hearts and lives of people.

Walk Forward You Won't Get Lost In The Past!

by Paula Booher

first written 1/11/06 9:43 a.m.

Inspired by K-love's Encouraging Word radio

Doesn't matter all the mistakes you've made

They've got you to here and now,

The present is the most sufficient place

Don't wollow in self pity or have a cow.

This is where I want to be

Exactly the person I am meant to enjoy,

I am the most important woman God made

Exploring every avenue of His Holy employ.

For if I did not fall down

How could I ever get up again,

How many journeys I would have missed

And how many a new friend.

The forest is thick and dark at times

I'm lonely and blue it may seem,

Yet Jesus had never left my side

My angels great glory did glean.

I am within the living water

The battle will not last,

The healer of the broken bore my perfection

Walk forward you won't get lost in the past.

Love’s Mysterious Ways

by Paula Booher

Some have called me crazy

Those have been correct,

Others call me a mystery

They too would stand erect.

Passions run wild at moments

At times they stand at bay,

There is no rhyme or reason

For loves' mysterious ways.

Years have daunted and eluded me

While some consumed with pleasure,

A stick could not be dipped

With which my love to measure.

No color has been invented or created

That illuminates its' allure,

Yet when its' ever present

My heart is ever sure.

There are no words to explain it

No way to explain it away,

Its' futter is evasive and like air

That's loves' mysterious ways.

So many are its' definitions

Uncountable as the stars,

A babys' touch a kittens fur

Love is so bizarre.

The line between is thin

As whispy as a breath of spring,

Of what do I speak of you may say

Of course it is this love thing.

God had His fingers crossed

When He thought this one up,

For the variety of its' causes

Overflow Any size cup.

From teddy bears to broken glass

The artist paint brush or song writer,

Love has been used to perform the task

For many a delighter.

From the brinks of disaster

To the point of dispair,

To the heights of great joy

You'll find love there.

To the depths of the sea

To the moon of our days,

You'll never figure out

All of loves' mysterious ways.

About me:

I'm Still a Missouri girl after 48 years.  6 kids to date.  One is in heaven with Jesus, three here on this journey with me and two stepsons (one of which has a beautiful baby girl).  My life is filled with a whole lot of adventures that I now seem to like to write about.  Thanks to Carol at Storytime Tapestry I finally have a place to vent!  My family thanks her too as they were tired of getting an ear full of the same ol' voice day after day...lol  Writing is not only my pleasure it seems to have taken on the role of my therapy as well.  After emergency brain surgery 8 years, ago 9 days after our daughter was born from a blot clot that formed in my brain that had to be removed I seemed to have developed the never ending flow of words.  The dam literally Broke lose and I've been writing ever since 1998 consistently.  God has His reasons.  I had written sporadically before then yet now it is everyday.  I'd like to say I enjoy horseback riding and water skiing or sky diving and I Do enjoy watching those things.  With rheumatoid arthritis it is not exactly practical to Do them just now.  Maybe next week or next month.  I am a believer that through Christ All things are possible.  I keep praying and just Believing that one day I WILL!  In the meantime I write. The joy of the Lord is my strength.  Not to say I am Always happy or that my middle name is joy.  I find things to be joyful about.  I am blessed.  Thanks for blessing me with your presence here
