    Saved

B. J. Cassady

My granddaughter Shannon is nine years old, just turned nine.

Last week she rode on her school bus when a classmate asked her

about God.  Shannon told her about God and Jesus.  The other girl

asked what do I need to be saved?

Shannon said to be saved just pray to God and tell him that Jesus

is your personal savior and that you are sorry for the bad things

you have done then my family will take you to church.   They prayed

on the busy together.

Later when Shannon got home she told her mother, "Guess what

so and so got saved today."    It made me think we as adults are shy

about telling others, and are somewhat timid in our beliefs at times.

Here I have a nine year old granddaughter who is lighting the way.

Who knows how many lives she changed that day?

Have You Seen Kilroy?

Mark Crider

mark@cccoating.com

I have seen "Kilroy was here" in most places, mostly in rest rooms. Someone even chalked it on one of my planes one time.

I've been around the world and often wondered what started it. Most times it had a caricature of a guy looking over a wall, his fingers over the edge as if he had jumped up on it to look over. And of course I added it to those places that lacked it. So from
Cape Town through Europe (yes, it was in the one on top of the Eiffel Tower) to Stockholm, from New York east around to Los Angeles and further (even in Prudhoe Bay and a cliff in British Columbia and the Yukon) I helped get the word out that "Kilroy was here."
Now I know. Enjoy!

The Legend of KILROY

Author Unknown

The young James Kilroy was working on the docks of Boston harbor in

the 1940s, loading the freight ships of the time with big crates

filled with blue jeans, destined for the far reaches of the world.

One early November morning the day started as so many before it. The

wind was blowing, the weather was gray and drab, and James Kilroy

was not in a mood for anything but staying inside, sheltered from

wind and rain.

"So, Kilroy, are you dreaming again? Not much you get done today."

Kilroy not even blinked, he was used to the foreman and his insults.

And the boxes with 100,000 pairs of blue jeans were waiting to be

loaded. No way around it, he better get it over with.

But when Kilroy bent down to lift one of the crates he suddenly got

a bright idea -- an idea so brilliant that it couldn't be withheld.

He grabbed a piece of chalk out of his pocket, and with big, visible

letters he marked each box with: "KILROY WAS HERE."

And through those boxes -- appearing in harbors across the whole

planet --KILROY's spirit reached the whole world. Indeed an

effective way of getting around! After that, whenever the foreman

shouted to Kilroy that he never got anything accomplished, he just

smiled. He knew better. In harbors across the globe boxes were

appearing every day to prove the foreman wrong. Kilroy knew that one

could transcend borders and break through barriers many ways, and

thereby feel free and independent.

You Can Only Save Yourself

Joyce C. Lock

If I let my mate have their way, they may treat me better.  If I pray long and hard enough, maybe they will go to church.  If I share everything I am learning, perhaps some of it will rub off.  If I am completely obedient and submissive, they will get saved.

But, God says - you can not save anyone but yourself, Ez. 14:14.

If I choose my children’s friends, I can guard their influence.  If I keep them at my side, perhaps no harm will come.  If I teach them about God from dusk until dawn, they will never stray.  If I do home schooling, I can keep them from the evil one.

But, God says - you can not save anyone but yourself, Ez. 14:16.

If I study all week, my Sunday School class will receive my lesson.  If I speak with tears and emotion, they will know all I say is true.  If I keep insisting what I believe, they will finally get it.  If I serve all over the church, others will, too.

But, God says - you can not save anyone but yourself, Ez. 14:18.

If I dress just right, the world will know I am a Christian.  If I let people walk on me, they will know my God is real.  If I do everything perfectly, others will follow.  If I give away all my possessions, they will want what I have.

But, God says - you can not save anyone but yourself, Ez. 14:20.

Do you suppose God knew we would not get it the first time?

Our outside appearance does not mean anything until it is a by-product of what is on the inside.  Our faith is not to be in who we are, but in who God is.

If we put all that focus and energy unto our own spiritual growth, just think of all the great things we might accomplish!

When our relationship with God is first on our list of priorities, He gives a very special promise.  He will leave a remnant for those we love, Ez. 14:22.

We Are Beautiful In God's Eye

Linda Ann Henry

When I pray I love to talk to God

Sometimes I ask Him if He loves me

His answer is always with a smile

God sees us as beautiful

In His eyes

He created us for goodness

He wants us to live in peace

When a little child comes into the world

God asks the angels to celebrate and sing

He cares for our soul because He made us

He does not want us to cry

If we do, then He also cries

When we are happy, He feels the same

We were born for a purpose divine

To see the beauty of nature

The marvel  of the birds that sing and fly

For when they are in the blue sky

They are near God who loves them all the time

God always forgives our sins

If we believe and sincerely pray

He will call us from the heavens

Be glad He is Our Father today

We will stay beautiful and feel the flowers

Touch a tree, watch a red robin fly and sing

All so wonderfully made

If we love another, as we do ourselves

Then we will please God
And through the suffering we endure

The beauty will always show as pure

God with hold our hand through all eternity

Our beauty will be there for sure

And God will never leave us

In Him, we are secure.

 We Are All Born Free

Linda Ann Henry

I watch for the eagle

Soaring high above the trees

He touches our hearts

To realize

We are born to be free

I go to a garden

Where butterflies fly

Then I smile and I say

There too go I

When God made me see
He wanted us free

The blue in the sky

A kiss from the butterfly

The moonlit stars

All tell me the miracle
We are born to be free

Our lives are created

It does not matter

How we start

God's life in us always

Makes an everlasting mark

Though from ashes we are formed

We are born to be free

Our soul is our own

There is only one me

God can make it right

If mistakes are done

He loves us eternally

Together we are one

When we're born to be free.

I'm free from the fear of tomorrow;
I'm free from the guilt of the past;
For I've traded my shackles for a glorious song,
I'm free! Praise the Lord! Free at Last!
