Chicken Soup for the Menopausal Soul
We are now collecting stories for Chicken
Soup for the Menopausal Soul, due to be published in August
2007. That may seem a long time out, but the publisher requires that all
stories be selected, edited and submitted at least six months from the
scheduled publication date. We need your stories by November 1, 2006, but the sooner you can get
them to us, the better.
Types of Stories Needed
We are looking for primarily light-hearted, humorous stories. Yes, they do
exist! They can be about your own menopausal experiences, or those that
you've so happily "shared" with your husband(s), significant
other(s), kids, bosses, employees or even animals. And they can be written by
men! If your story is also uplifting, inspirational or educational, in
addition to being funny, so much the better. We currently are developing
chapter titles that will provide you with more ideas and guidance on what
types of stories will have the best chance of being selected, so be sure to
check back.
Important Submission Information
Each story being seriously considered for publication--usually about one out
of every twenty submitted--is required to go through a lengthy evaluation and
scoring process. We should have enough high-scoring stories by November 1,
2006, to begin our final editing and selection process, so don't wait until

BUT WAIT, WE NEED MORE!
Besides stories, we are also in need of original poems and cartoons
having to do with everything having to do with menopause and women's midlife
issues/aging. If your poem is selected, then you receive $50, if your cartoon
makes the final cut, you will receive $100. It's important that you do not
send your original cartoon artwork, as we will ask for the original
camera-ready artwork if your cartoon is selected. Please e-mail or make a
