Prayers are required for the Castro Family.

Nikki passed away June 29, 2006 at between 6:00-6:30pm.  Though she was being given massive doses of blood pressure medicine, her blood pressure was only 66/25 while on the respirator and she passed minutes after being taken off the respirator. It was very peaceful and she was surrounded with loved ones.  Thank you all for every prayer, card or kind thought you gave on her behalf.  God bless,  Al: reyjaz@aol.com

To everyone that has taken a moment of time to send prayers, kind thoughts and deeds,shared stories and cared about Nikki and the family during this nightmare, on behalf of both family's.. Nikki's and David's, we send our deepest appreciation to all.  We don't see Nikki's death as being that God wasn't listening to our prayers and hopes.  We know that there are times God must say no.  We don't understand and don't feel the terrible grief of her leaving, but we know His eyes see far beyond our paths in life and that He, as any parent, must say our wants are not in everyone's best interest.  For whatever reason, He chose to take Nikki home with Him, and she is in Glory while we, though disappointed, are accepting His decision.

God did open our eyes to see there is far more love on this earth than it's given credit for.  The outpouring of love that we've received from people that only knew us through reading of our dilemma.  That love has given so much encouragement to continue through all that had to be gone through, and continuing on with the last things such as funeral and memorial services.  It honestly would have been a lot harder doing it on our own.  Thank you all.

I have two more requests of prayer from you if you would.   1)  Please continue praying for David as this 24 year old man goes through the ordeal of making funeral arrangements and beginning his life over again as a single parent.  and 2) Please say an extra prayer for Cory.. Nikki's 14 year old brother that so bravely gave up his own bone marrow in hopes that it would help save his sister's life.  He is having such a hard time dealing with the fact that his marrow was unable to do what everyone had hoped for.  He's even said to have been taking some blame for the death because his marrow was used to help her.  This poor child needs a heart that understands he did so much more than so many could have ever done.  The love he showed his sister by doing what he did for her meant everything to Nikki, and that made it all worth it.

Again, thank you all for every step you took with us... and all the prayers and love you poured out of your hearts.  You'll never know how much it meant to us, and if you get the chance to do it for others, don't hesitate to do so.  It would have been much different for us if you hadn't been there...
