Words That Comfort

Thursday of last week I lost my sweet little Pug Buttercup.  She has been quite ill and the time had come to send her to Rainbow Bridge where she will await my arrival one day.  I haven't been able to stay online that much since she died.  Last night I went online and when I read Storytime Tapestry, I was sooooooo happy that I had decided to do so.

It is uncanny how the words of Joe Mazzella show up “Somewhere” just when I need them the most.  He has had the power to change my world from the very first article I read of his a few years ago.  He often refers to his articles as " my simple words."   That is simply not true.  No doubt, he has changed the lives of many of his readers, thereby changing the world for them.  This is so very true for me.  Joe is so modest, even shy, about the miracles his words have wrought.

A quote by Jonathan  Swift, the author, gives a very accurate description of my favorite author.

"Although men are accused of not knowing their own weakness, yet perhaps few know their own strength.  It is in men as in soils, that there is a vein of gold which the owner knows not of."

I know that you agree with me.  It's that vein of gold that makes Joe's writing so special, so inspiring, and so precious to me.  Reading the article that you published today reminded me that, even though my private world has changed for the worst by losing Buttercup, there are many things I can do to change my world for the better.  Beginning tomorrow, I will follow his 'instructions.'  He will help me, as he always does, to get over this boulder on my road of life.

May God bless you, Joe Mazzella.

Dorothy
