"EDMONTON'S CAPITAL EX"

Klondike Days - July 20, 2006 - July 29, 2006Edmonton, Alberta

 

 

 Klondike Days began as a fall fair in 1879, and became a summer festival in 1901, finally settling in at its curent location at the Northlands in 1910. In 1962, the fair adopted the Klondike Days gold rush theme, which in 1996 was voted Canada's top event by the American Bus Association.

In 2005 the name was changed to "Edmonton's Capital EX".

As of 2006, it will be known as  "Edmonton's Capital EX".  It will be held July 20 - 29th, 2006 and will feature new shows including:

·         Ed Fest- 10-day rock festival.

·         Global Connections- International marketplace with exhibits of shopping, food and entertainment from a variety of countries around the world.

·         Northwest Originals- Trade show with hundreds of exhibitors featuring unique hand-crafted items that showcase Western Canadian talents.

The exhibition is held in Northlands Park south of Rexall Place.

 

 

In Edmonton things are a buzz during Klondike Days which celebrates the Gold Rush era of the late 1800s with with free entertainment and tons exciting events.  Featuring a variety of activities including musical performances, thrilling amusement rides, great food, a spectacular parade, and of course loads of fun! If you're looking for thrilling family fun, Edmonton Klondike Days will definitely be the destination for you.

Welcome to the Capital EX Experience

It’s a capital idea whose time has come...welcome to Capital EX, Edmonton’s exhibition with a whole new attitude. Edmonton's newly renamed and renovated exhibition will feature new shows like Ed Fest, Global Connections and Northwest Originals. More new programs will continue to be announced, helping to ensure Capital EX continues to be one of Canada's largest exhibitions where more than 810,000 guests attend each July.

Capitalize on your Capital EX experience by taking in the variety of different attractions included in your gate admission. Don’t miss the performances at TELUS Stage, EPCOR Stage, and Northern Star Talent Search. Be sure to check out Northwest Originals, Global Connections, The EX Zone, McCain Family Fun Town, and all the other great attractions there are to see.

You can also catch the action-packed performances at Ed Fest, Edmonton’s Chuckwagon Derby, Alberta Tattoo, and a one day Pay One Price Pass which are all separately ticketed events at Capital EX.
